Mash Tub

The approximately 14,000 gallon cypress mash tub and fermenters with belt driven agitators at the original H.E. Pogue Distillery. Typically about 50,000 lbs of grain (corn, rye, and malted barley) would be used to make 1 batch. Each tank would need to be scrupulously hand-cleaned before the next batch in order to ensure healthy fermentations and premium quality Whisky worthy of the Pogue insignia.
